OUSD is announcing three new resources as part of its Explore Your Options campaign to better inform Oakland families about enrollment public schools. Enrollment season for the 2017-18 school year is from Dec. 5 to Jan. 20 for district schools and is from Nov. 1 to Feb. 17 for Enroll Oakland charter schools. These three resources will help ensure that your family has what it needs both online and in-person to enroll in an OUSD school.
- Attend one of OUSD’s seven Enrollment Options Fairs across the district for students and their families, which are listed in the table below. At these fairs you can meet with school representatives, principals, and teachers in person and learn more about school program offerings. All Oakland public schools will be present, and childcare and bilingual services will be available.
- Use the Oakland School Finder – an interactive, online tool with detailed information to search for and compare schools. You can even view schools based on location, academic achievement, before and after-school offerings and specialized program availability (including STEM, bilingual education, arts, music programs and more).
- Each family that attends an enrollment fair will receive a refurbished Windows 7 desktop computer, complete with pre-installed software and a complimentary digital literacy introduction.
