Celebrating 6 Years and Thank You
Today, I’m writing to share the news that I am transitioning from my role with GO Public Schools Oakland. The past six years have given me the opportunity to collaborate with incredibly smart and thoughtful families, educators, and community leaders. You have inspired and fueled me. Thank you. I also feel fortunate to have worked alongside some of the fiercest and committed community organizers at GO.
But it is time for me to find other ways to work for a more just, sustainable, and equitable society.

Leaving GO Public Schools after leading the 1Oakland campaign is bittersweet. The work and leaders of 1Oakland have been a central part of my life. However, I leave knowing that it is in good hands withAngela Badami-Knight and Daisy Padilla stepping up. Over the past few months, I began to transition key areas of my work, and I am both grateful for what we have accomplished, and hopeful for where the campaign is headed.
Angela, Daisy, and the 1Oakland leaders, will continue to advocate to address our education system’s greatest challenges while also engaging the charter community to work alongside OUSD. Additionally, Nima Tahai, Jessica Stewart, and Radhika Jit at GO Oakland will be leaning in to support the work of 1Oakland.
My last day at GO will be April 26, but this is not goodbye; I am an Oakland parent and Oaklander hasta el fondo de mi corazón. I’m exploring my next steps and opportunities, and I’m looking for inspiring projects to continue to contribute to our community and support students and families.

Hoy le escribo para compartir que estoy haciendo la transición de mi rol con GO Public Schools Oakland. Los últimos seis años me han brindado la oportunidad de colaborar con familias, educadores y líderes comunitarios increíblemente inteligentes y reflexivos. Ustedes me han inspirado y motivado. Gracias. También me siento afortunada de haber trabajado con algunos de los organizadores comunitarios más feroces y comprometidos en GO.
Pero es hora de que encuentre otras formas de trabajar para una sociedad más justa, sostenible y equitativa.
Dejar a GO Public Schools luego de liderar la campaña 1Oakland es algo agridulce. El trabajo y los líderes de 1Oakland han sido una parte central de mi vida. Sin embargo, me voy sabiendo que está en buenas manos con Angela Badami Knight y Daisy Padilla tomando el mando.
En estos últimos meses, comencé a hacer la transición de las áreas clave de mi trabajo, y me llena de gratitud ver lo que hemos logrado y esperanzas hacia dónde se encamina la campaña.
Angela, Daisy y los líderes de 1Oakland, continuarán abogando por abordar los desafíos más grandes de nuestro sistema educativo, y al mismo involucrar a la comunidad chárter para trabajar junto con el OUSD. Además, Nima Tahai, Jessica Stewart y Radhika Jit en GO Oakland apoyarán el trabajo de 1Oakland.
Mi último día en GO será el 26 de abril. Pero esto no es un adiós, soy una madre de familia en Oakland y Oaklandista hasta el fondo de mi corazón. Estoy explorando mis próximos pasos y oportunidades, y estoy buscando proyectos inspiradores para continuar contribuyendo con nuestra comunidad y apoyando a estudiantes y familias.
