Empowering Families for a Successful School Year
As a former school leader and a parent of high school students, I understand how overwhelming the start of a new school year can be. Between planning, hopes, and uncertainties, it’s easy to feel unsure about the best ways to support our students.
But you’re not alone in this. GO Public Schools is here to equip you with the tools, resources, and support you need to advocate effectively for your child – from the classroom to the state level. Through our programs, community engagement, and ongoing advocacy, we are working every day to ensure that all students, especially those who are underserved, have the opportunity to succeed.
This year, we’re excited to offer two key programs designed to empower families and deepen your involvement in your child’s education:
Family Leaders Program
Starting on September 16th, this program is a unique opportunity for families to learn how to create meaningful change within their communities. Through virtual bilingual sessions held on Monday evenings, you’ll explore crucial topics such as School Governance and Budget, Quality Education and Data, and Organizing and Advocacy. We’re looking for passionate advocates ready to take their advocacy to the next level and lead within schools, districts, and the broader community. Join us and be part of this powerful movement.
College Early and Often Programming
On Tuesday, September 17th, we’ll kick off the third year of our College Early and Often series with the Family Values introductory session. This evening is designed for students of all ages (K-12) and their families to engage in a creative exploration of family values, discover their child’s interests, and envision their future college and career paths. Together, your family will create a unique crest that represents your hopes and dreams. RSVP now to secure your spot!
Our College Early and Often series continues in October with the launch of our new theme: Exploration of STEM Careers. This engaging program will introduce families to exciting career paths in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Architecture and Design, and Manufacturing. Through brainstorming sessions and interactions with expert community partners, you’ll gain valuable insights and resources to help navigate your child’s future.
