Why public education?
Being part of a thriving school community in the past showed me the power of authentic collaboration among educators. Knowing that when a community of educators has kids’ well-being as its focus, the positive ripple effect can be felt throughout the community. That inspires me to do the work to bring this to every child.
Favorite quote and why?
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela. The idea that these words convey is the reason I am an educator. Being in a position where I support people in gaining their own power to make a difference is a privilege I do not take lightly.
Your vice/s?
Big Brother, chocolate, spending time with my husband and baby!
